Early in the morning meeting in the Hotel.

Goreme open air museum  resembles a vast monastic complex composed of scores of refectory monasteries placed side-by-side, each with its own fantastic church. It is obviously the first sight to be visited by any traveler in Cappadocia, standing as it does in the very center of the region with easy access from all directions. It is only 15 minutes walk (1.5km, 1 mile) from Goreme village center.

It contains the finest of the rock-cut churches, with beautiful frescoes (wall paintings) whose colors still retain all their original freshness.

Kaymakli underground city is built under the hill known as the Citadel of Kaymakli and was opened to visitors in 1964. The people of Kaymakli (Enegup in Greek) village have constructed their houses around nearly one hundred tunnels of the underground city. The inhabitants of the region still use the most convenient places in the tunnels as cellars, storage areas and stables, which they access through their courtyards. The Kaymakli Underground City has low, narrow and sloping passages. While the underground city consists of 8 floors below ground, only 4 of them are open to the public today, in which the spaces are organized around ventilation shafts.

Uchisar ; is situated at the highest point in Cappadocia, on the Nevsehir-Goreme road, just 5 km from Goreme. The top of the Uchisar Castle, provides a magnificent panorama of the surrounding area with Mount Erciyes in the distance. Many rooms hollowed out into the rock are connected to each other with stairs, tunnels and passages. At the entrances of the rooms, there are millstone doors, just like the ones in the underground settlements, used to control access to these places.

Pasabag Valley ( monks valley) is located on the road to Zelve, coming from Goreme or Avanos. Highly remarkable earth pillars can be seen here, in the middle of a vineyard, hence the name of the place which means: the Pacha’s vineyard. Pacha means “General”, the military rank, in Turkish and it is a very common nick name. This site is also called Monks Valley. The name was derived from some cones carved in tuff stones which stand apart. Some of these cones split into smaller cones in their upper sections, in which stylites and hermits once hid.

The hermitage of Simeon monks was also here. A chapel dedicated to St. Simeon (Simon), and a hermit’s shelter is built into one of the fairy chimneys with three heads. Avanos is set on the banks of the Kizilirmak, the Red River. The town is about 8 kilometers (5 miles) from Goreme. The Kizilirmak (red) river (ancient Halys river) is the longest river in Turkey and it does not only separate the town from other parts of Cappadocia, but also gives the supplies the clay for pottery.

It is by this river that the red pottery clay is found from which Avanos derives its main livelihood and its foremost claim to fame. Pottery has been produced in the Avanos area for centuries and some of the techniques still used date back to Hittite times to 2000 BC.

Your Last Stop Will Be A Famous Wine Factory To Taste This Delicious Liquid Which Has Been A Sacred Drink Since The Hittite Periods.

We visited Cappadocia in September 2015. The Cappadocia two-day tour was organized by Adavegas Travel during our pre-cruise stay in Istanbul. Every little detail was taken care of by Adavegas Travel: transfer from the hotel to the airport, booking the flights, hotel in Cappadocia, excellent tour with a fantastic guide Gokhan who met us at the airport, and transfer from the airport to the hotel in Istanbul. Adavegas Travel even helped us to book a hot air balloon ride at the last moment – and that was an amazing experience!

Our Cappadocia Tour started with an early flight from Ataturk airport. We were picked up at our hotel around 4:30 AM. The transfer was in a nice and clean Mercedes van. Quick check-in – and we are up in the air for one hour flight to Cappadocia. We flew with Turkish airlines and the service was outstanding! We had a better meal during one hour flight than during an overnight flight with AA. Wheels down on time and we met our guide Gokhan for two days in Cappadocia. We really admired our guide – not only did he have perfect English, he was very knowledgeable about every aspect: history, culture, food, literature. Our first stop was in Devrent valley and “fairy chimneys”. We’ve learned a lot of interesting facts and had some free time to walk around, enjoy the beautiful scenery and take pictures. A delicious lunch was served at the local “not touristy” place. Good wine, great food and breathtaking view from the terrace of the restaurant. What could be better than that? Our tour continued at the famous local ceramic factory/shop in Avanos. We had a chance to see the masters of pottery creating their masterpieces. The last stop was Turasan Sarap Evi store where we could taste and purchase Turkish wine. We spent the rest of the evening at our amazing Yunak Evleri Cave Hotel. Next day we had a very early wake up call. The mini van picked us up at 4:30 AM and drove us to the location where we were taken for our hot air balloon ride. Pastries, tea and coffee were served for all of the participants. The hot air balloon ride was the highlight of our Cappadocia tour. To be in the air and view the sunrise over Rose Valley is the most beautiful thing in the world! At the end of the ride we all got certificates and had a glass of champagne to celebrate this wonderful experience! After a very delicious breakfast at the hotel our guide met us at 9 AM and we continued our Cappadocia tour to Underground City. Finally we had a chance to see what we’ve read so much about. This activity/tour is great, but if you are a bigger or taller person you will experience some discomfort walking bended through the narrow tunnels and staircases. Next stop was at Goreme Open Air Museum. It is also a very interesting site to visit. The last stop was Pigeon Valley. It is great for a picture opportunity. At the end of the day we were taken to the airport for our 7 PM flight back to Istanbul. Like I said before, Adavegas Travel arrange a private transfer for us. It was easy to identify the coordinator of the transfer. The car was waiting for us by the entrance of the airport within 5 minutes.

Conclusion: if you want stress-free vacation, if you don’t want to worry, if you want excellent service – Book with Adavegas Travel. The biggest job you will have to do – is to pack your suite cases and get your camera ready for a great adventure and unforgettable moments. The rest will be covered by Adavegas Travel Team!

“Great time in Cappadocia with ada vegas travel”

Had an amazing time in Cappadocia. I emailed Ada vegas travel with our arrival dates and depatures and a few things we wanted to do while there (visit some sites, wine tasting, hot air ballon and cooking class), they answered back with an amazing, well planned itinerary which we could not fault. We enjoyed our weekend there immensely, and made some great memories. Our tour guide Ugur was great, we had the right balance of time with her and free time by ourselves. Thank you so much for giving us such a great experience 🙂

    Best private Cappadocia Tour
I have visited Cappadocia in october. I was in Istanbul for a business trip for a week and wanted to visit Cappadocia for the weekend. I booked the 1 night 2 day tour i saw on their website. They e-mailed me the airline tickets and hotel confirmation. Everything was on time and the tour guide Esra was very knowledgeable and friendly. She was a young lady in her 30’s. The driver was friendly and experienced as he found his way through the narrow roads easily. The tour van was brand new with wi-fi and leather seats. I stayed at the Cappadocia Cave Deluxe Hotel. Staying at a cave hotel in cappadocia was a first, but definitely a must in Cappadocia. The breakfast buffet was huge. Overall i am very satisfied with the services of Adavegas travel and would highly recommend them to anyone travelling to Cappadocia or anywhere in Turkey.

    “Wonderful visit to Cappadocia!”

The Ada Vegas Travel team organized for our family a spectacular visit to Cappadocia during a two day tour in November 2015. Coordinating ahead of time was very easy via internet, they made several requested adjustments to our schedule and Esra provided very good local advice of things to see and do. During the two day tour of Cappadocia, Our tour guide Gokhan melt us feel at home, sharing his love and enthusiasm for sharing the rich tradition of Cappadocia, and introducing us to colleagues and friends at nearly every stop. Our family of 3 had our own minivan, and we adjusted the locations and time spent at each as we learned more about the region. Last minute requests were handled with complete flexibility and a smile! Combined with the ease of pickup and dropoff at the airport and hotel, it could not have been any more professional or enjoyable. We saw more in two days that we would have thought possible! Thank you Ada vegas travel and Gokhan!!
