The Hagia Sophia is an ancient Basilica, started by Constantine the Great in the 4th century and completed by Emperor Justinian in the 6th century.

For a thousand years the Hagia Sophia was the world’s largest cathedral, and today it has been converted to a museum. The basilica has a stunning dome and minarets, and is home to countless beautiful mosaics, paintings, sculptures and columns.

Another architectural masterpiece, inspired by the Hagia Sophia, will be our next stop on the tour. The Sultan Ahmed Mosque, also known as the Blue Mosque, is one of the symbols of Istanbul.

Completed in 1616, the mosque gets its name from the vibrant blue tiles that adorn its interior walls. The Blue Mosque has become one of Istanbul’s major attractions, known also for its beautiful courtyard, and six impressive minarets.

From there we will move to the nearby ancient Hippodrome, the host of chariot races during the Byzantine period. Here we can admire the three remaining monuments at the site, the Obelisk of the Theodosius, the Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine.

Our last stop will be Istanbul’s amazing Grand Bazaar. In this maze of covered streets and passages you will find more than 4,000 shops selling countless products, especially jewelery, pottery, spices, carpets, and leather.

After your excursion Your guide will take you to port.

We booked two day Tours Ephesus and İstanbul with this company for our tour of Istanbul in March 2015. We were met promptly when we got off of our ship by our tour guide, Bill as we called him! We had a fabulous informative tour of Istanbul. Saw everything we were promised and more. Bill, our guide, even helped us negotiate our deals in the Grand Bazar. You really will have a great time with this company. They answer every email quickly and offer great ideas. Our minivan was new and very clean. I highly recommend this company, you won’t be disappointed. Enjoy % 100 recommended adavegas travel !!

Istanbul Tour;
We booked the Istanbul walking tour with Adavegas Travel, our tour guide was Mehmet, I could not have asked for a better guide. We had a great day with him seeing all the major sites in the Old Town. Ahmet was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and friendly. He was eager to answer any questions and we had and help us understand and learn about the history and culture of Turkey. The tour also included a great lunch at a restaurant in the old town which was a nice way to relax in the middle of the tour. Overall Adavegas Travel they helped make our first full day in Istanbul a success. Best istanbul tour operator

Superb Istanbul Tours;
If you want to see the real Istanbul, you should book a tour with these guys! We had a food tour (great for foodies, but also for keen photographers) around Istanbul during which we explored little back streets and ate until we could eat no more.. The guide, Seda, met us at the hotel and showed us the way to traditional breakfast spots for menemen, to kofte and pide shops, through souks, up staircases, around corners, until finally we succumbed to baklava and turkish coffee. She was tolerant of our photo stops, and made a special effort to accommodate my mother who couldn’t climb many steps. In istanbul, that is no small feat! It was an excellent way to see Istanbul: the first-timers and the returning visitors agree.

Best Tours of Istanbul ;
I have decided to take my 2 daughters on the street photography walk organised by Adavegas travel. Booking was super easy, just sent an email with date and selected tour and timing, they reverted to me in the next 30 minutes with confirmation. on the day, we were greeted by this charming lady Nalan, remember this name.
The weather was not on our side, but she bring us to few little streets to discover the deep secrets of Istanbul, place that you usually don’t go. Having a turkish coffee in a very stylish cafe, during she explained the history of the buildings around, visiting the church and explained to the kids the difference between aperture and exposure with a lot of patience and inspiring the kids so much, they all get excited with photography. Nalan has an amazing career background and she is not an ordinary guide, which makes the experience unique. she is flexible, knowledgeable and attentive and there is no doubt she will make anyone in her tour raving about this experience. I must add that i am a spoiled person, we lived in Dubai, Madlives, Gran Canaria and travelled half of the world.
Now we have tried one package with Ada Vegas Travel and love it so much, we just want to do all the remaining ones. the weather was not there but we didn’t care anymore, enjoy to listen Nalan, discovering all the insight of Istiklal avenue, doing some shopping at the same time. what an amazing day!! thanks Nalan and Saban.
I keep the title of the greatest daddy in the eyes of my daughters.
Wishing you all the success and a of great shots.

Private Istanbul tour: All went well: driver was there to pick us at the airport as planned… guide was there to meet us once we reached town. Guide was knowledgeable and she was very good at adjusting the programme to our needs (we were just arriving from a night flight from Johannesburg with 4 young kids).

And of course, the attractions visited are amazing. do it if you have a few hours to spare between flights in Istanbul.

NB: please remember that none of the attractions open before 08:30 am. Our flight arrived very early in the morning, so we had to start with a breakfast in town… which was not a bad idea anyway!
