Ephesus; once the trade centre of the ancient world, a religious centre of the early Christianity and today, Ephesus is an important tourism centre in Turkey. The ancient city Ephesus is located in Selcuk, a small town 30km away from Kusadasi.

House of Virgin Mary is located on the top of the “Bulbul” mountain 9 km ahead of Ephesus, the shrine of Virgin Mary enjoys a marvelous atmosphere hidden in the green. It is the place where Mary may have spent her last days. Indeed, she may have come in the area together with Saint John, who spent several years in the area to spread Christianity. Mary preferred this remote place rather than living in crowded place.

Temple of Artemis is known as one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. It has been built in the areas of Ephesus on a flat area which has over the centuries turned into a swamp. The new Artemis has been rebuilt in the 2nd century BC. Located on top of the previous one, it had tremendous dimensions: 127 columns of each 17,5 meters high. Unfortunately this one has also been destroyed by fire, reconstructed and again demolished by earthquakes, rebuilt and at last looted by goths one year later.

The Ephesus museum,is different from other many museums.It is not designed according to chronological order on the contrary it has rooms with a theme.For example the rooms are called as the house findings room, the hall of the fountain relics, the hall of the funerary relics, the hall of Artemis, the gladiators section, …etc.

After your tour we will escort you to your cruise port.

Wow! the tour of the amazing and historical sites of Ephesus are not to be missed. We were met at the cruise port and made the short drive to Ephesus. The Temples and Ancient City are filled with so much history. The House of the Virgin Mary was an amazing highlight. We enjoyed a delicious Turkish lunch, after lunch, we were given a tour of how the carpets are hand-made. We weren’t in the market to purchase a carpet, but enjoyed the setting. Our guide, (Kai) was very knowledgeable and provided a thoroughly detailed tour of the ancient ruins. We had booked this tour through online with Ada Vegas Travel. We found on tripadvisor and fallow the reviews what we read about the company were just happened. Reliable agency.
We do love to recommend to the whom will ever visit Ephesus…

Private Ephesus Tour from Kusadasi !!
My husband and I booked this tour after our cruise tour was filled. Boy were we thankful as this tour was 1/2 the price and we didn’t have to wait on a bus load of other passengers! Our tour guide was Ozgur and quite frankly he was what made all the difference in this tour. He greeted us and two of our friends with a smile and immediately it felt as if we had known him for a long time. His warm personality was only surpassed by his knowledge of the area. He got us into the sites before the large tour buses which gave us additional time for more sightseeing. After the tour the four of us were already planning our next visit! If you are planning to visit Turkey I highly recommend this tour company and Ozgur in particular.

Best Ephesus Tour

My husband and I saw all these wonderful reviews for Ada Vegas Travel on trip advisor and decided to book our tour through them. It being our first time traveling to Turkey and living overseas, we wanted to ensure we got the best and we did! Our tour guides name was Nico and he really went above and beyond to ensure our tour under his supervision was memorable… Which it was. It was especially memorable because he designed the tour based on our needs. We went to a ceramic and a carpet shop on top of everything else we saw and did that day. Definitely book your tour with them. We will definitely be booking our turkey tours with them the next time we want to take a trip thank you Nico!

Private Ephesus Tour from Kusadasi;

Ephesus was amazing and our private tour through Ada Vegas Travel, “In the Footsteps of St. Paul & St. John” was wonderful. Ilker Avci, our guide, picked up our family of four outside the cruise terminal as planned. It was a spectacular day as we were well ahead of the other cruisers and tourists who went on the ship tours and otherwise, so we enjoyed Ephesus in optimal conditions without the extreme crowds. Ilker was very knowledgeable and accommodating, and took us through Ephesus, the terrace houses, St. John’s Basilica, St. Mary’s Church, and the Castle, and even swung by The Temple of Diana that was not on this tour. It was a perfect day with our own comfortable van and guide, and included a wonderful authentic Turkish lunch. Please note that you will visit a carpet company and demonstration, all hand created and very interesting, but you are not obligated to buy. The only thing I wish I would have asked about- is where the local Turkish market by the cruise terminal was located. We missed that, (although it was not on the tour), but I regret not asking where it was and getting to go there. We had a perfect day!

A representative of Ada Vegas Travel was waiting for us at the port in Kusadasi. The price for a six hour trip was about $75 USD pp including delicious lunch. We had a beautiful new Mercedes van for three four of us, so there was plenty of room to shows out. We were taken directly from the port to our requested destination, one hour south to the beautiful undiscovered Ephesus Ruins, National Park around Lake Bafa.
Lake Bafa was once a gulf of the Aegean Sea until the Classical period, when the sea passage was gradually closed by the alluvial mass brought by the Büyük Menderes River.
We traveled around the lake to the north-east tip of the lake to the village of Kapıkırı, as well as the ruins of Heraclea by Latmus, sometimes called Heraclea in Ionia. The mountain chain of Beşparmak and the area we visited, contained many ruins of about 12 monasteries dating back to the Byzantine era.
Much of this area was inhabited in the 2000 BC. Closer to the lake we saw ancient stone tombs dating back to the 4th Century . The marble columns we saw were brought here during the Roman occupation by sea.
Absolutely gorgeous. Life here is still largely based on farming… And fishing.
Our guide was fantastic. If you ever want to explore the inland region, be sure to contact him. Metin Yoruk, He was raised in this region and knows everything about it. He even takes guests who want to hike on multi day trips into the mountains to see the 4000 BC Cancer paintings.
